After participating in this online CPD module, physicians should be able to:

Explain the significance of diabetic retinopathy to colleagues and patients.
Identify individuals at risk for diabetic retinopathy.
Recognize which eye symptoms are potential medical emergencies and what to do about it.
Develop and implement a prevention and treatment plan for diabetic retinopathy, based on current guidelines, that will be effective in their practice setting.
Recognize anti-VEGF injections and laser photocoagulation treatment modalities for diabetic retinopathy.
