Specifically in medicine, we have to do this a lot, which is also known as consultations or making referrals. Today's episode is going to focus specifically on eConsult

This is Dr. Michael Gordon. I'm a regular contributor to Health Plexus in the Journal of Clinical Care. A decision has been made, along with the editorial and managerial staff, that we will develop a series of discussions on issues related to the aging population. I'm a geriatrician and this has been my life's work for over 50 years. For the first segment, I want to address one of the most important issues related to the aged, and that is the proper use and risks and benefits of medications.

Not a day goes by then something is written in the media or on television about problems related to medications. Many individuals, because of their suspicion that perhaps the information they're getting from their physicians or from the media are inaccurate will result to their own social media searches, such as from Google. I often refer to it as Google mania, and the truth is there's lots of very useful, valid information on the search engines such as Google.
